IL SISTEMA “ARA” (ACID RAIN ANALYZER) PER L’ANALISI DELLE PIOGGE

Giancarlo Perruca, Giovanni Rebua, Vincenzo Massa (Syremont, Milano)

INTRODUZIONE

Meteoric precipitations are an important vehicle of aggressive agents, acid ones in particular, which represent a significant factor of deterioration for the costituent materials of cultural properties, materials such as carbonatic stones, bronzes, etc.

It is well known that composition of rain varies considerably in the course of a single meteoric event, by a factor of 50 or more.

A study of the environment, therefore, must not be limited to the survey of average data (of acidity, for example), but must be able to display the sequential analytic values, surveyed at frequencies higher than 1 mm of precipitation, in order to take into consideration the peak values and the typical trends.
